Southampton who are fighting relegation after dismissing their former manager Mauricio Pellegrino has approached the former Stoke City boss Mark Huges in bid to replace the ousted manager.
the 54-year-old is reported to have been handed a contract till the end of the season and could be announced as Saints boss on Wednesday.
